Feature

Know what is running out before a customer asks

Stock software is worth it when it tells you something you would not have known. A notebook tells you what is on the shelf; Pietools tells you what is running out before a regular customer comes in for it, what has not moved in two months, and what your actual cost was when you set the price. It is built for a shop of a few hundred to a few thousand items, not for a warehouse with a barcode system already.

Low-stock alerts before it is urgent

Set a reorder point per item. When a sale takes the count down to it, you get told the same day rather than the day the customer is standing at the shelf.

Barcode scanning that fills the item in

Scan and the name, price and tax rate arrive. For packaged goods the barcode is looked up for you, so adding a new item is a scan and a confirm.

Stock that can also be a service

A salon or a workshop does not hold everything physically, but it still has a catalogue and a price list. Pietools treats both as items, so the same billing screen works for either.

Cost, price and margin on one line

Every item keeps its cost and its selling price, so you can see which lines actually make money - and use your own history to suggest a price.

Dead stock you can see

Items with no movement for a set period are listed separately, so the money sitting on that shelf is visible instead of forgotten.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Add what you sell. Scan barcodes where you have them, type where you do not.

  2. Step 2

Set a reorder point on anything you would hate to run out of.

  3. Step 3

Sell as usual. Stock updates itself and alerts arrive when something gets low.

Questions people ask

Do I need to count stock every month?

Only when you want to. Sales adjust stock automatically, so a physical count is a check rather than the only way the numbers are known. Export the list and tick against it.

Can it work for services instead of physical goods?

Yes. Add a haircut or a service repair as an item with a price and no quantity being tracked, and it appears on bills and in sales reports like anything else.

What if my items have no barcodes?

Then the barcode is optional. Everything works by name, and scanning just saves typing on the ones you do have.

How many items can it handle?

Shops of a few thousand items run comfortably. There is no cap worth mentioning at the size a single counter deals with.
